SPACE
l Aalto discovers that ‘if we look at a painting by Cezanne. The space grows directly out of the forms placed on the canvas; individual elements with volume spread out towards the sides from an intensely modulated central zone.”
l The L-shape house sits on a flat top of the hill surrounded by the wild forest, in this way we could see architect’s faith in nature & humanity -> L shape create a relatively independent face and define a clear boundary between the house & forest

CIRCULATION
l Walking around the living room, feeling wandering with a forest in which space seems to form &inform to people.
NATURE
l The balconies on the first level invites visitor to go out and engage with the nature, even though they are not attach with the ground.
l Aalto designed the main entrance with timber columns, which evokes a forest impression in the arrival.
l Also the columns used around the stair cases, the vertical elements create the rhythms of the nature with the exterior trees.
STRUCTURE
l Ridge structure
Ø Across the ridge ( entrance, living room, swimming pool)
Ø Along the ridge ( loggia, courtyard, Terrace)
l The diagonal lines gather the main interior, exterior & outside space
